The Yoga Sutras is the most widely studied and referenced yoga text in the world today. It appears on the curriculum of most yoga teacher trainings, regardless of style or lineage. Patanjali’s yoga belongs to a living wisdom tradition that has enriched the lives of seekers for millennia. Meet the course instructor:

Eilin Ma Dalby

My name is Eilin, and I’ve been teaching yoga since 2011. I’ve completed several teacher trainings, including RYS 200 and RYS 300, and I am registered as an E-RYT 500 and YACEP with Yoga Alliance.

My training spans both dynamic and restorative styles of yoga, but in addition to the physical practice, I also have a deep interest in the deeper dimensions of the practice as well, such as yoga philosophy and ethics, prāṇāyāma, and meditation.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Asian Studies from the University of Oslo, where I specialized in Chinese language, religion, and history. It was my early interest in Buddhism and Daoism that first led me to the philosophical roots of yoga. I took courses on yoga and Tibetan Buddhism, while simultaneously completing yoga teacher trainings. This combination of academic study and practical training allowed me to delve deeply into yoga philosophy and ethics—a journey that continues to unfold in ever more inspiring ways.

Since 2020, I’ve been developing and leading my own yoga teacher training programs. My dedication to yoga stems from a deeply rooted belief in its transformative power—something I have experienced through personal practice. Sharing these valuable tools with others, just as my teachers have so generously shared them with me, continues to inspire and deepen my own journey.
