Handstands require just as much mental strength as physical balance
When it comes to demanding yoga poses, few are as iconic as the handstand. At first glance, it may seem like a test of muscles and balance. But beneath the surface lies a deeper truth: handstands require just as much mental courage as physical strength.
When being upside down, we may be faced with our own doubts and fears. Thoughts like "I can’t do this" or "I’m going to fall" are common. Overcoming them takes inner strength—and that kind of strength can only be built through consistent, structured practice.
In this course, we move gradually from foundational to more advanced levels, allowing both your body and your mindset to adapt at a natural pace. We focus on strengthening key areas like the shoulders, core, and wrists, so that your body works with you—not against you.

Meet your teachers:
Hi! We’re Halat and Peter, and we’re excited to guide you through this course!
We first met when I (Peter) became Halat’s handstand coach. Like many others, she was making the classic mistakes people tend to make when learning to handstand—so we decided to turn those common struggles into a course we could build together.
Our different backgrounds and experiences complement each other, and we hope they’ll help you reach your own handstand goals more efficiently and with more joy.
Halat brings years of experience as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and yoga teacher. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science with a specialization in anatomy—so she’ll be giving you insights into the muscles involved in going upside down, while also leading you through the strength and movement practices.
I, Peter, come from a very different path. Unlike Halat’s formal education, my knowledge has come from countless hours on my hands over the past 15 years. I’ve helped many others reach their handstand goals as both a gymnastics coach and handstand trainer. I’ve also studied physics at the University of Oslo—which pops up here and there throughout the course.
My goal is simple: to help you avoid the trial-and-error mistakes I made, so your handstand journey can be smoother, smarter, and a little more fun.
